My First Ever Jewelry Swap!

Accessories are a great way to spice up an outfit and I must say I feel bland without wearing at least one piece!  I have a box full of bracelets, a tree stand loaded with earrings, and a hanger covered in necklaces.  However, there comes a time when one has to look at what they have and realize there are some pieces that you just don’t wear or forgot you have.  That’s why when I heard about the Yelp Spring Bling Jewelry Swap, I thought this would be the perfect time to pass on some of my jewelry to others who would make use of it!

I’ve never attended a swap before of any kind, but I assumed it was similar to a clothing swap.  We could bring up to 10 pieces to swap, and I did just that.  Whatever amount of jewelry you brought was equivalent to what you could take home.  Made total sense!  Located at the W Hotel in Westwood in the WET pool lounge area, it was an ideal setting for drinks, tasty appetizers and jewelry shopping!

The jewelry was hung in cabanas by type, which made it easy to go to your favorite stop first.  As soon as we got the green light, there wasn’t a mad rush nor pushing or shoving.  I felt like I needed more necklaces, so I started there first.  I found two cute ones, which made my evening! One was a long pearl chain necklace and the other was a blue iridescent necklace.  I think most of the items I brought were scooped up, so I’m glad I was able to add a pop of my flava into someone else’s collection!

Overall the event was fun and a success for me because I left with some key pieces, I met new people, and I now have another hood to check out, Westwood!  Thanks to Yelp and the W Hotel for a lovely jewelry swap!
