On Saturday, March 3rd, I had the opportunity to attend A Soolip Wedding event. Am I getting married? Well, my boyfriend wasn’t in attendance due to cold feet (just kidding), but I did go solo to check out some of the best wedding resources all under one roof! I enjoy planning things, so maybe the next thing will be a wedding for someone else if not mine?
Held at the beautiful Bel Air Bay club in Pacific Palisades, I knew I was in for a wonderful day when I pulled up to valet with a Rolls Royce sitting outside the club for all attendees to view. Produced by Wanda Wen, A Soolip Wedding is well known as one of the wedding industry’s must go-to events and is essential for soon-to-be-wed couples, wedding planners or anyone looking for inspired event resources. The theme was “Crystal Showers, Eternal Flowers” where 60+ vendors featured distinguished wedding amenities.
Some highlights from the event were dazzling pieces from America’s most established jeweler, Black, Starr & Frost, a fashion show with amazing wedding gowns of avant-garde bridal couture line, St. Pucchi, and smooth dance tunes from Elan artists. There were tasty bites and drinks from Good Gracious! Events, Charm City Cakes and other catering companies. Sponsors of the event include Warner Bros. Special Events, Town & Country, The Knot and Utterly Engaged. Overall, I had such a great time and definitely left with some new ideas for weddings that I share with all my brides to be! So who is ready to plan a wedding?

Would you wear this after Labor Day?
Labor Day is here and many fashionistas ask themselves a daunting question -Should I wear white after Labor Day? The answer to that is yes to the 10th degree! Whoever started this trend of not wearing white after this holiday should step into 2011. Living in LA, I will wear white all year round since the weather accommodates it. If I was in Chicago in the winter I would wear some white, but not all white unless I am attending a white party. Even then, you would want to add a pop of color to break things up like red shoes, a yellow necklace, a royal blue bag, etc. To me, seasons don’t define the colors I wear, my mood does. Most likely my mood will call for anything bright, which includes white.
Should we throw a party that celebrates wearing white after September 5th so people aren’t afraid to step out in what they wish in their hearts to wear versus what society limits them to? Heck yeah! Let’s start with Fashion Night Out on September 8th -wear white and wear it bright, no matter what item it is on your body and be proud of it!
For only being here 2 weeks, it’s no doubt I made the right decision to move to LA and to come at a time when one of the biggest events of the year, Fashion Night Out was taking place. I opted for the scene on Rodeo Drive, where I’ve never seen so many people at one time on this street. The fashionistas and brand loyal mavens were out shopping, networking, having champagne and posing for pictures. The weather was a little breezy, enough for the models to have their hair swinging in the wind, the ferris wheel was twirling around with kids happy with glee, and high-end stores were open for business from 6-10pm, even 11pm for some.
