Living in Los Angeles I never thought I would need gloves. I left them all behind in Chicago. Fast forward to now and for someone who works outside with a laptop and touch-screen phone, gloves are a necessity. It has been rather cold here in LA lately and I remembered that a friend gave me a pair of touchscreen gloves last year that I never used. I have worn them all this week and what a lifesaver they have been! My hands and feet are the first and last body parts to get cold, so having these gloves in the elements have made my tasks much easier. Using my cell phone has been a breeze! So for my last post of 2014 I thought it would be nice to highlight where you can buy a cool pair of touchscreen gloves (all in my favorite colors)! Please note these might not be suitable for extremely cold conditions!

The Style Goddess
This dress went from long sleeves to short sleeves – which do you prefer?
I always love a colorful in-your-face print on clothing. This ASOS artwork dress I bought while in Chicago from my favorite fashionista-on-a-budget store Crossroads Trading Co. fits that description spot on. I purchased this dress a year ago and was waiting for the perfect event to wear it too, and finally I wore it to Art City LA. But a week before I wore it out, I stared at it and felt I needed to alter the dress by changing the long sleeves to short sleeves.
Fits perfectly and love the sleeve chop!
Living in LA has me spoiled all year round with the beautiful sunshine and warmth. Seeing long sleeves on this dress didn’t feel right, and I wanted some arm exposure and room to breathe! Once the change was made I was so glad I did it! I enjoy wearing bracelets, so this allowed me to showcase some fun silver jewelry. The sleeves were now the perfect length and I was ready to wear it out and feel my best. My takeaway from this is, if you feel an article of clothing needs a change to adjust to your lifestyle or fashion sense, go for it! Now what else should I alter in my closet?
No matter how you spin it, bright colors and prints will always reign supreme in my world. When I discovered the brand Single, I was drawn to the the vibrant selection of hues and patterns for dresses, blouses and more. I wanted to get a closer look at what Single offers, so I stopped by the warehouse to wander down the aisles and pick out a few items to try on!
Single was co-founded by the married duo Galina and Michael Sobolev in 1994. It embodies the individuality of style and confidence and was created to reaffirm every woman’s zest for life, romance and luxury. Using delicate silks and one-of-a-kind prints, it was quite obvious that I would be attracted to her clothing line. Let’s take a look at what I discovered in this downtown space!
The Cascade dress is a fun flirty dress to wear on date night or a fab event. I love the cut in the front and the draping in the back. It comes in several different colors.

Claudette maxi dress
You can never have enough maxi dresses and I would definitely add this to my wardrobe. This print is beautiful and the fabric is very soft to the skin. The cut in the front and back give you something to look at both ways! This dress is perfect for that sunny vacation or resort!

I have yet to find a jumpsuit that fits me well, and I think that this might be the one! The Janessa jumpsuit was so easy to put on and felt effortless.

Another fun dress to wear on a night on the town, the Elaina Cage Neck dress comes in fun colors and the hot pink one is my fave!

Color is a part of my being, and it will stay with me till I die. I am just amazed at how every thing you wear doesn’t have to be neutral or muted – there’s a color for it! Two recent things I purchased to add to my bright palate are a pair of colorful sneakers and rainbow lenses. Let’s check them out:
Nike Alvord 10
Nike Alvord 10
I took a look at my old sneakers and said to myself, “I need to get more colorful ones that are a reflection of me.” I was definitely going to hold out until I found the right style and colors, and it wasn’t until I randomly walked into a Big 5 Sporting Goods store that I discovered my dream shoe, the Nike Alvord 10. It was funny because I initially went in there with my boyfriend to help him on his never-ending quest to find the perfect shoes and then I started to look at the options for women. I was drawn to all the shoes that had pink, turquoise and/or yellow in them, and I picked up the Nike Alvord 10 in a turquoise color with orange on it. I think I said out loud I need more color on this shoe and the employee that was nearby mentioned they did have another style I could look at. Out came this beautiful pair of shoes with all my favorite colors and I was sold! Sometimes you don’t know what you’re holding out for until you see it, and that was my moment. These Nike Alvord’s were made for me and there was no hesitation to buy them! I mean, just look at all the vibrant hues on this shoe! I will definitely wear these forever and everywhere – I don’t think there will be another shoe that can top this!
Wearing Old Navy rainbow sunglasses
Another thing I wanted to colorize is my sunglasses. I realized that I should definitely have some rainbow sunnies, so I first saw that I could buy frames I like and replace them with rainbow lenses from Oliver Peoples (another random walk-in). It took a few months to find sunglasses I really like (sorry no Ray-Bans), and then I thought that maybe I don’t want to change out the lenses for $85, I actually like them as is. Another random stroll into Old Navy a few weeks ago and the perfect rainbow sunglasses were found! Just $15, as soon as I put them on I knew they were the one!
It appears the coolest things I discover are usually when I’m not expecting it, which is awesome. The question is, what is there left to color on me? To go all the way out, my hair would be the next thing. It’s in the style picture above, but am I ready to rock hot pink and purple strands? Not sure yet, but it’s something to think about.
